ULC-Energy has agreed a cooperation statement with Fugro, a Dutch headquartered specialist in geotechnical, survey and geoscience services, to work together to support the deployment of Rolls-Royce Small Modular Reactor (SMR) projects in the Netherlands.
At the Nuclear Innovation Conference in Haarlem on 10 and 11 June, ULC-Energy and Fugro signed a cooperation statement focusing on a partnership for the assessment of subsurface uncertainty early, helping to understand and manage project risk, accelerate decision-making, and reduce later costs.
By combining ULC-Energy’s focus on commercial SMR deployment with Fugro’s Geo-data expertise, we will develop a fit for purpose standard procedure to manage site-specific subsurface risks and that will evolve during the project development pathway.
ULC-Energy is developing nuclear projects using modern, modular reactors based on proven light water reactor technology, with Rolls-Royce SMR selected as the technology supplier.
